social

The highest social class during the Islamic Golden age was a Muslim Arab, they payed the least amount of taxes and had more privileges. The second highest class was the Muslim non-Arabs, they had to pay more taxes than the Muslim Arab. After that was the "people of the book" they were the Jews and the Christians. They name "people of the Bible" came from their faith off of the bible. The lowest class was the slaves.
